My temperament test results have always been a bit perplexing.

My name is Ashley. I'm an accident survivor, former collegiate athlete, wife, and mom of three little ladies sharing my thoughts on faith, family, and suffering and I'm so glad you're here.

She was named “Theresa” after her two great-grandmas and shares the middle name “Anne” with my mom and her mom. We celebrated one week with her first bottle with her dad and a long couch nap. 😊

We truly couldn't love this little cutie anymore.

This week I got a job offer - perfect position, gr

This week I got a job offer - perfect position, great company and coworkers - and was so, SO excited to be done after eight months of the interviewing game...

But I had to turn it down.

While I hope doors are opened there in the future, the timing just didn’t sync up with our daycare logistics.

I could've forced it - used friends/neighbors/pricey backup daycare - sure.

But there wasn't peace and there needs to be peace to make such a big change for your family.

As hard as this is for my goal-oriented self, I decided to hit pause, enjoy the holidays, train my wild puppy, and wait until we get off the daycare waiting lists.

Whatever it is you're running towards, don't be afraid to put on the brakes.

It may be hard, no it WILL be hard, after everything you've put into it.

You may be so close you can taste it.

But if there's no peace, taking a break is not going to change the direction you're called to go.

Instead, it may help get your life in order so you're much more ready to hit the ground running when the right time comes.

Each time I finish a final interview round I buy m

Each time I finish a final interview round I buy my favorite Panera bagel because progress is worth celebrating just as much as outcome.

No comment on how many celebratory bagels I've consumed, but when I get an offer I'm about to get a massage and tear the outlets, nail salon, and every single chicken pad thai joint in town down! 😂🤷🏼‍♀️

Don't forget to celebrate each step. Truly. The first, the third, and the last are all EQUALLY worth celebrating .
